Huron Trails will be holding their annual Winter Camporee January 27-29 at Camp Munhacke. The Troop began skill preparation at the last Troop meeting when our Pioneering Merit Badge counselor, Mr. Allan Carson, instructed Scouts in several lashings that will hopefully serve them well at "the siege" this coming weekend. This weekend also offers an opportunity for Scouts to earn their Emergency Preparedness merit badge---if they have completed a little homework prior to the campout. Hopefully we can get most of the "homework" completed on Tuesday evening.

At last Tuesday's Troop Meeting Scouts had the opportunity to vote and make a final decision as to when they wished to attend Summer Camp at Pioneer Scout Reservation. We are now booked for the Summit campsite the week of June 24. The early bird cost is $314 if paid in full in several months. Scouts should look at fundraising opportunities between now and then to help offset the cost. A Scout might also wish to work with our treasurer, Mr. Brian Brickley, to start setting aside monies now so that the final payment does not arrive in one large sum.

Merit Badge University will be held at Eastern Michigan University on March 31. Registration for merit badges should become available any day now. The point is that the "early bird gets the worm".

We will be holding our Court of Honor at our Troop meeting on March 6th. This is a time where we will swearing in our new SPL and new positions in the Troop become effective.

It is that time of year again when we must collect the annual dues and renew the boys in scouting. The costs are as follows:
